The existing spaces in the small house were cramped and dark, and the floor plan was choppy. The house needed another bathroom, more storage, and a better layout. To add square footage to the primary bedroom, we finished the attic over the garage and reconfigured the room to include an en suite bath and walk-in closet. We stole space from a hall closet to make the upstairs bath larger, and reworked the stairs to the second floor. To retain the charm of the home, we added a vintage handrail, vintage light fixtures, and vintage doors.
